Charlie Graduation
This is a late post due to the move, it took awhile to get our photos.
June 11th/12th
June 11th started the graduation festivities. That morning we headed to Wheeler Army Airfield where family day was being held. All of the families were able to interact while our soldiers showed us their classrooms and what they do a normal day. After this we all walked to the airfield and the families were able to take pictures with the Kiowa(Charlie's aircraft) and Charlie explained how everything works. The whole idea was super cool and Charlie's grandmother and I loved it. After family day we went home and started to get ready for the military ball. Before we left Charlie pulled out a piece of paper and started to quote it for me. It said "These are real pearls and they go on forever just like the love of a pilot." "Never forget you are the wind beneath my wings." He then slipped the pearl bracelet on my arm. It was an absolutely beautiful gift and I was so happy to have received it. We then left for the ball were we had wonderful conversation and some delicious food. Towards the middle of the evening my name along, with a few other spouses names was called to come to the front of the ballroom. My husband followed behind me and I had no idea what was happening. The man spoke about how hard this journey has been for the spouses and how we deserve a reward for putting up with our men during the process. My husband presented me with my own pair of flight wings on a necklace, It was such a wonderful idea! We then were all awarded with our certificate for completing the journey as well. It was such a beautiful night and I was so blessed to have been apart of it.
The next morning was Charlie's graduation. I set and watched my amazing husband walk across the stage as he received his wings. His grandmother, brother and I all walked up the front and they watched as I pinned Charlie's wings on his uniform. There are no words to describe the emotions we were feeling on that day. Finally all of my husband hard work, sleepless nights, and days of pushing himself until he had nothing left had came to end and he had officially became a Aviator.
